FAQ's

Online therapy is live, video or chat based counselling using your laptop or mobile phone. Online therapy is the same as face to face therapy, the only difference is that you get to have your consultation from the comfort of your own private space. All you need is a computer or mobile, a decent internet connection and a quiet private space to begin.
Online therapy can be an effective treatment for many different mental health issues. This includes treatment for Depression, Stress, Anxiety disorders, Relationship problems, trauma, grief, loss, work or office issues, School or Teen issues, Mental health issues, Couples issues, Marriage Issues, LGBTQ issues, Anger issues, Dementia/ Alzheimer’s & Panic Attacks

Some of the most popular types of therapy include:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): The therapist challenges your negative thoughts about you and the world. He tries to alter unwanted behaviors or treat disorders such as depression. CBT provides relatively short-term treatment for phobias and depression

Client-Cantered Therapy: Under this approach, the client leads the conversation. The client determines the course of the session. The therapist offers a high degree of empathy, helps build self-esteem and problem-solving abilities.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): The therapist tries teaching behavioral skills (mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness & emotion regulation) to help clients enhance motivation. DBT is often used for mental health issues including eating disorders, PTSD, personality disorder, self-harming notions.

Existential Therapy: This therapy emphasizes self-actualization in the face of the realities of the human experience. Existential therapy helps clients face difficult and overwhelming truths about life and death.

Gestalt Therapy: This therapy help the client focus on the present. It often involves role playing to resolve conflicts from the client’s past.

Therapy can help everyone, and is not only for people suffering from mental illness. Some of the most successful people use therapy to keep them motivated. A therapist can also help overcome mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, body image issues, and even addiction. A therapist will help to:

  • Understand your feelings
  • Get immediate support (if required)
  • Plan your future
  • Relieve stress, anxiety or pressure

A therapist, or psychologist, is a licensed mental health professional who helps clients improve mental wellbeing. Therapists primarily help clients, whether via in-person or online therapy. They help their clients cope with whatever they’re struggling with, and help them get rid of the past. They help clients live a better present and future. Therapists also teach better coping skills. Therapist job includes:

  • Listen with empathy and understanding
  • Guide clients through stressors and anxieties
  • Analyse past and present events in client’s life
    Comfort clients
  • Provide a third-party unbiased opinion
  • Be empathetic and teach emotional, cognitive, and communication skills
Our therapists or psychologists themselves do not prescribe medication. They refer clients to psychiatrists, mental health facilities, or other medical professionals as needed.

We believe that therapies should be driven more by “Need” than “ability to pay”. To make counseling more accessible, we start our counselling session at just $10/ session. Our sessions are 90% less expensive than traditional in-person therapy. This makes us one of the most affordable ways to get online therapy sessions.

Still, if our counseling proves too cost prohibitive, you can seek direct discount from the therapist. Most therapists are not in it for the money. Our therapist with consider your request, and offer discount given your condition and need.

The length of the counselling process is dependent upon client’s individual situation, needs and challenges. The number of recommended sessions varies by condition and treatment type. You can discuss this in an initial consultation with a therapist. Many clients with depression, anxiety & stress report feeling better within 2-3 months with 10-15 sessions. A session can take from 30mins to 2 hours.

Online therapy has been proven to have same effectiveness as in-person therapy. There are multiple reasons why online counselling proves to be better:

Affordable: Most important, online therapy is typically less expensive than in-person therapy. There are no costs involved around rent, electricity bills, etc. So the therapists pass on the benefits to you.
Comfortable: No need to travel to a psychologist, sit on the same couch, and talk with the same therapist. Online therapy doesn’t require that you leave the comforts of your home or office. Talk to your therapist in your pajamas, sitting on your bed!

Multiple communication modes:

  • Text-based therapy gives you the freedom to chat with therapists throughout the day or week. Your therapist is always quick to respond. For the socially anxious, who which to avoid face to face conversation, this is the best option.
  • Voices messages can be used if you wish to vent out a moment or have a lot to get off your chest. Voice messaging provides the comfort of hearing a therapist’s voice without having to schedule a lengthy session.
  • Video call sessions can be used if you want an experience seeing a therapist’s reaction and having them react to your body language. You can choose to have that quality face-to-face time via our app with 100% security.
    Your Therapy, Your Terms:

Most of us live hectic, unbalanced lives wherein scheduling a traditional therapy session becomes prohibitive. Online therapy allows you to set the time, location, and initial direction of the therapeutic relationship. It’s freedom that puts you, the client seeking mental health solutions, first.

With online therapy, you’re not limited to a therapists near your home. Local therapists also may not be equipped to manage your unique and special needs.
At MantraCare, we use our algorithms to determine the therapist best suited to your need and personality.

If after some online therapy sessions you find your therapist relationship isn’t a fit, you can easily switch to a new therapist. At MantraCare, switching therapists is a simple click of a button

MantraCare has thousands of positive review from its clients. Most customer rate us positively for our professional therapists, excellent matching mechanism, and intuitive app for conversations and follow-ups with therapist.

Online counselling via MantraCare is highly secure. We don’t share your data or sessions with any third party. Your whole communication with your counsellor is end-to-end encrypted. So you can be at peace and talk openly with your counsellor.

We offer certain services such as self-care tools, app-based tracking and online self help blogs for free. But to cover the costs, we charge a nominal price for face-to-face therapy sessions. Privacy in International Use and The GDPR

The Mind Mantra Platform advises both its Client/Users and practicing Platform Providers to be aware of and respect and comply with the local laws of any international based Client. Mind Mantra is cognizant and respects the formal promulgation of the existing European Union (EU) data privacy regulations. The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA and is commonly referred to as “GDPR.” Mind Mantra has always respected our Client’s Privacy (see our Privacy Policy) and we were already a HIPAA certified platform following stringent data privacy rules.

The basic tenants of the promulgated GDPR regulations include, but are not limited to the following:

Disclosure when you sell, transfer or third party marketing of User’s data: As outlined in this Terms of Use, Mind Mantra does not sell or transfer Client data and any marketing efforts are focused solely on internal information updates to our registered Clients.

Access to collected data: At Mind Mantra, you already have the ability to access your shared data (Your personal information, your emergency contact information and all your interactions with your Providers) and use it as you wish.

Clear Consent: At Mind Mantra our Terms of Use are clear on what consent we seek with regards to your data and prior to your engagement with your Provider, you review and agree to a further “informed consent” process.

Security: At Mind Mantra we have encrypted our data from day one and have always stored all Private Health Information with full HIPAA compliance and in an anonymized form as required by the GDPR.

Notice/Audit: At Mind Mantra, we will provide our Clients notice of any data breach and we employ a full time security Officer, as well as engaging a third party security firm to periodically audit both our code and technology security as well as our HIPAA policies and procedures around data security.

Finally, depending on your EU country or origin, the GDPR takes into account what was previously termed the right “to forget” or request deletion of your data once you cease using a particular application or site. This particular tenant of the GDPR may conflict with applicable medical records retention laws. In the United States, this requires at least seven years of retention, which is common around the world and is sometimes up to ten years or more in certain countries. So, unlike some data platforms, Mind Mantra cannot erase private health data directly upon a Client’s request, as it may be considered essential for other medical file retention purposes. Applicable individual country medical retention laws are generally considered an acceptable exception to the GDPR regulations regarding the right to deletion of certain data.
